After severe stormy days what brought us torrential rain today the sun came out and the wind was mild.
It was relaxing, spirit lifting atmosphere. After many months of the late arriving winter it was a day of joy.
All this is happening on Long Island, N.Y. And we are passing the middle of April. It is time to put down the winter coat and see what the garden has to say? Yeah, there are some damages from the frost, but in my garden most of the plants go underground for the winter here. The Irises, the Lilies, the Lily-of-the valley they just disappear for perfect protection. But when the time comes in the Spring it is a miraculous site to see as the ground gets filled up with hundreds of plants pushing the dirt up and come alive year after year.
It is still early , Spring is late. Nights are too cool to plant the annuals, but soon I'll go to see what is on the market? I certainly want to buy Pansies. I wrote a little story about "Pansy Love". Have to find it in the archive and I will publish the essay.
There are many other happenings in the yard. The little animals bring lot of fun to watch. Great number of different birds. Some were here in the winter, but some just coming back from the South. The squirrels are expressing their joy with lot of jumping around, playing with each other.
Well I got this entertainment because I feed them for a long time all year around.
Hope that the warm air will stay and the winter is over for sure.
Have a nice day! From the Yoolly team.
