What is love?

When the temperature hits 90 F
and at your bird -feeder thirsty birds are gathering
to make a fresh water "pond" with dripping cold water "for the birds"
THAT IS LOVE
When a hungry squirrel is at your door
asking for food and you make a sandwich
with peanut butter and give it to his asking "hands"
THAT IS LOVE.
When you learn to say thank you
and appreciate people's kindness to you
THAT IS LOVE.
And if you wish to continue
go to the comments and sign
ANONYMOUS
and say something about
WHAT IS LOVE?
This is Blue bird's message

Say Good bye and Hello!

Today's philosophy : When one door closes on you an other door opens for you. Lo and Behold: what is opening might be better stuff than what you had before! Now you sorry that you were locked up behind that good bye door.
But wait: we don't know the future! At the open door only future stuff are looking good but....
wait and see after all nothing is perfect. You may digest the philosophy for today from

Summer is coming?

Summer in the Northern hemisphere comes in June when we will have the longest day and shortest night in a year. As a matter of fact: the Sun does not go down at the North Pole for one night or day which ever comes first. No, I have not experienced that event, but have seen on the screen that it is a funny feeling when someone wants to go to sleep and it does not get dark.
Well on a rainy day or night may be is different.
Those people who go to Alaska in June may be have unusual expectations. A friend of mine did go to a tour for 21 days at this time of the year and he said" From 21 days in Alaska it so happened that 20 days was raining" Now that is brutal!
So can be in summer time. But than again the vegetation did not mind it at all.
Where I live in Long Island N.Y. State summer time mostly gets hot weather with 3 H:
Hazy, Hot and Humid. From that the humidity what makes life very miserable and unpleasant. There are various ways to go through those days: with cooling system: A/C or at the water ocean, lake, river, swimming pools what ever comes in the way. However if you can go a little higher elevation in the nearby " mountains" ( 2000 feet) humidity will not bother you.
We should enjoy this month of June when the roses are blooming.
Soon will come the longest day and than we will have to think: " Every June speaks about her step sister: December." Well in this region anyway.
But there are places on Earth where the summer never ends and you can always think about it if you live up North.

I invite anybody and everybody OK?

I thought that this is my BLOG!
It is a total non-sense to cut off those humans who are not members! What is the deal here? Anybody can become a member. Why the fuss than? I'd like to get an answer to those non sense ideas what keeps Internet communication difficult and messed up. Wise guys tell me about your exclusive membership system.
I have seen on this pages such ugly, tasteless pornokitsches that I am wondering if I want to stay here with these kind of MEMBERS ONLY!
My friends DO NOT WANT TO BECOME A MEMBER AND THEY STAY WITH ME ON E-MAIL! How do you like them apples????
Blogging just does not work under these circumstances! Blue bird :-(

Blue bird's Blog

She was sitting up on a tree’s favored branch with respectable distance from the ground.

Not only was a safe place to be but also gave her a most beautiful Vista
while she was gathering useful information with her bird eyes.

The most pleasant object in the entire landscape was the nearby standing birdfeeder.
It was always busy when there was food served in selective portions
as the different birds required it. Though stealing from each other from the different shape
feeders was common custom.

Blue bird’s report tells you about the happenings day by day.
“There is a pair of doves” she says “ I know them for years because they are permanent residents
summer-winter they are always here. “The male dove name is DAY, and the female’s is NIGHT.”
Faithful to each other as Day and Night.
Day being bigger and stronger is the defender of the territory and he is very aggressive.
Usually they sit on the edge of the feeder even they are well fed.

Some times when a big flock of Starling or Grackles come they have to give up the seat.
But no way would Day let other doves to eat. Night even said to him: “ Day you are called by the humans
a symbol of peace because you belong to the pigeon’s Family and you are ruthless and cruel to the other doves
even when your belly is full”. Day said nothing, because the symbol of Peace was invented by humans - he thought- who
really don’t know much about pigeons even less about Peace”

But eating, drinking and defending territory did not full fill Day and Night loving life. By Nature Day in spring got some flare ups from his hormones to have sex with Night.
When Night was grazing on the ground or wanted to get a sip of water, Day dressed up in his best feathers tried to reach Night for a little amorous “play”/

Aha! Who is smarter now? They had children last year and Night had no intention to increase the number of doves when
there were just too many around.. Day was chasing Night around and a round till he was out of breath. Night turned around and said to him:” You just cannot think Day. The sex stuff blocks your brain. You just cannot think. Fortunately Nature gave me brain I can think with and not to loose it as you do.”
I am Blue bird also a female like Night, an I am not a feminist. But the way I see it: Females have more control over the population and more ability to create a happy life.

Fly a kite!

If you think that flying a kite is easy , just go and try it. It takes a lot of patience and skill like learning blogging . I know you know, but I don't, and I can not find a reasonable tutorial.
My Web Site building is much easier.
Blue bird from the Studio. Nobody has a blog here. Nobody to ask. :-(

This is Spring!

Finally It arrived.

I am busy in the garden. You might guess: no time for blogging.

Sunny day

After severe stormy days what brought us torrential rain today the sun came out and the wind was mild.
It was relaxing, spirit lifting atmosphere. After many months of the late arriving winter it was a day of joy.

All this is happening on Long Island, N.Y. And we are passing the middle of April. It is time to put down the winter coat and see what the garden has to say? Yeah, there are some damages from the frost, but in my garden most of the plants go underground for the winter here. The Irises, the Lilies, the Lily-of-the valley they just disappear for perfect protection. But when the time comes in the Spring it is a miraculous site to see as the ground gets filled up with hundreds of plants pushing the dirt up and come alive year after year.

It is still early , Spring is late. Nights are too cool to plant the annuals, but soon I'll go to see what is on the market? I certainly want to buy Pansies. I wrote a little story about "Pansy Love". Have to find it in the archive and I will publish the essay.

There are many other happenings in the yard. The little animals bring lot of fun to watch. Great number of different birds. Some were here in the winter, but some just coming back from the South. The squirrels are expressing their joy with lot of jumping around, playing with each other.
Well I got this entertainment because I feed them for a long time all year around.

Hope that the warm air will stay and the winter is over for sure.
Have a nice day! From the Yoolly team.
